Difference plan versus execution
Yeah.. the long still worked out, our range high held to the point of a decent trade and we "would have made money".
Hindsight is 20/20. And I hope this example demonstrated to you how:
1⃣ Execution is way, way different from "calls"
2⃣ I also make execution mistakes every now and then
3⃣ Execution doesn't need to be perfect to make (a lot of) money
4⃣ There is a difference between having a plan and acting on a plan
So in a world on X where most just make "calls" and pat themselves on the back as soon as they "played out" (without any money made really, any live proof, especially not consistently). And where we (actual traders), have to swim in that world, our job is to sift out the non sense, and filter most of those vague calls out and focus on what works + executing what works properly to actually make money. Since edge to make money != (vastly) edge to look like you're right.
Our range high retest ended up working out, and the plan was to long it. But the execution of the plan was to be cautious, to wait for the first daily close and to re-evaluate. That's what I did, and it ended up into being a miss so far.
A trade that would have been a sixth win in a row called out here on my page. At least in the making, up to you whether you call a 2.5-2.8 RR trade a win.
I also showed how I would continue to manage the trade, where I'd keep my SL and TP would have been 63k. If you held somehow, feel free to digest that info to your liking.
Again hindsight is 20/20. We learn from the wins, the losses and the misses, altogether.
On to the next (OTTN as we say).
