# $SOL Everyone is celebrating the $1B number. They're watching the wrong metric.
Robinhood Chain just processed $1B in DEX volume in 48 hours—more than 50% of Solana's daily DEX volume—right as Solana hit its lowest DEX volume of 2026 on July 9 and market sentiment sank to yearly lows.
Sounds bullish?
Maybe. But we've seen this movie before.
Blast launched with $2.9B in TVL and then lost 70% of it within 90 days. Early hype doesn't prove lasting adoption.
The real test isn't the first 48 hours.
It's August 10.
If Robinhood Chain can consistently sustain $400M+ in daily DEX volume by then, this stops being a temporary headline and becomes a structural shift in liquidity.
At that point, Solana faces a much bigger problem than one slow month.
It risks losing its identity as the "fast, cheap chain for degens" to an Ethereum L2 backed by 24 million funded Robinhood accounts—users who never wanted to download Phantom or learn crypto wallets in the first place.
The first 48 hours created headlines.
The next 30 days will decide the narrative.
